This exceptional woman, orphaned at a young age, was raised in the Latin American Orphanage in Acapulco. In fact, she married her life's companion, Eduardo Castañón, deceased in February 2006, while they were still in the orphanage.
After working all her life, she decided to "repay her debt", and with her husband Eduardo, they founded the Marsh Children's Home in Acapulco, dedicated to protect abandoned and abused children. Her love, dedication and hard work have made the Marsh Home a model institution of its kind, where literally hundreds of children have been given solace and security over the years.
In addition to her 25+ Years as Founder and Director of the Marsh Children's Home, Jovita Godínez has a diploma in Evolutionary Child Psychology from the Universidad de Anáhuac, completed in 2004.
