Marsh Children's Home Acapulco, Inc., located in Tucson, Arizona, is a 501(c)(3), government approved non-profit corporation set up to assist the Marsh Home in Acapulco - known as "Hogar Infantil Marsh."
Founded in 1991 by Eduardo Castañon and Jovita Godínez, both raised as orphans in the Latin American Orphanage, the Marsh Home symbolizes their decision to dedicate their lives to helping unfortunate children. Eduardo passed away on February 4th, 2006 - but Jovita continues, as Director. She is dedicated to improving children's lives in this incredible and blessed project and to continuing to improve on Eduardo's legacy.
Over the 25 Years that the Marsh Home has been caring for some of Acapulco's most vulnerable and underprivileged children, Jovita Godiñez and "Hogar Infantil Marsh" have received a myriad of awards.
These awards and recognitions are from various Governmental Agencies, Non-Profits and corporate foundations that are dedicated to helping at-risk children in Mexico. In 2015, Jovita was presented with the 13th Annual Award for Altruism at a ceremony in Mexico City by Fundación Simi. In 2013, Jovita Godiñez was nominated for "CNN's Heroes", an annual competition to honor those who devote their lives to serving their communities.
We believe that the best way to ensure that the children at the Marsh Home have a better life is to provide them a life of dignity and respect — in a safe environment — full of Love. Education is our primary goal. All the children are required to go to school and complete their studies. A good education is the best way of ending the cycle of poverty that exists in the communities from which these wonderful children come. Learn more out the Marsh Children's Home Four Principles.
