HEALTH
ISSUES
Medical:
Our primary health needs are for the youngest children
at the Marsh Children’s Home.
Many arrive at the Home with parasites; some are anemic
and suffer from malnutrition. Upon arrival, we give
all children vitamins, haircuts, medicines for parasites
and amoebas and a general checkup by a local physician.
Children with more serious health issues or illnesses
are brought immediately to the local doctor.
One of our urgent
needs is to re-instate our in-house infirmary,
which was recently converted into living quarters
so that we could accept more children. We are currently
looking for a donor to provide us with $5,000 (USD)
to install a state-of-the-art infirmary at
the Marsh Children’s Home.
This
will help us become more self-sufficient and lower
our monthly medical expenses. This infirmary will
also serve as a minor emergency center for the children
in the event of an emergency.
Dental:
Most of the children who arrive at the Marsh
Children's Home need dental care. Many of
them have never been to the dentist in their lives.
Part of your monthly sponsorship money or financial
donation will ensure that your sponsored child receives
an initial examination, followed up by regular dental
visits, to ensure healthy and happy smiles.
Insurance: We need a Group Health
Insurance Plan to help keep our monthly medical costs
down and so that we will be prepared for any emergencies
- thereby providing the children with an extra level
of protection and security. Anyone who wishes to make
a donation for a Group Health Insurance Plan for the
kids, or anyone who is in the insurance industry who
can provide us with a special plan should contact
the our Administrator - Jean-Paul Valtorta, (he speaks both English and Spanish) at: vjanpaul@prodigy.net.mx
